Hello Everybody!

I'm sitting in my office trying to enjoy the small slice of sunshine peeking through the windows of the library. You wouldn't know that it had rained, snowed, and hailed the other day. But, that's Michigan for you. I'm posting the March newsletter here as well as on our website. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Women’s History Month

Free Computer Courses
All classes begin at 11 am or 4 pm. If you would like to attend please sign up at the library or by contacting Summer Spencer at 989-588-9782.

Windows for Beginners
March 10 & 12
Learn about the desktop, folders, task manager, etc.

Internet Explorer
March 17 & 19
Learn about the browser, settings, websites, etc.

Email
March 24 & 26
Must have an active email account in order to take this course. Learn how to organize emails, delete, compose, add contacts, etc.

Q & A
March 25
This course is for patrons who have already taken our other courses but still have questions or would just like to review the information.

Twilight Movie Party
We will be showing Twilight on March 21 at 5 pm . Guests are invited to play twilight jeopardy and other games with prizes and there will be a best dressed competition. Feel free to wear your Team Edward, Team Jacob, or any other twilight shirt. There will be a question a day that started February 14. Whoever has the most questions right wins a copy of the movie. You can call, email me or stop in each business day for the new question. Questions will be from all four books. If you would like to join us please add your name to the guest list. You must be present to receive any of the prizes. If you have any questions please contact Summer Spencer.

Return the Borrowed Books Week
March 1 - March 7 is Return the Borrowed Books Week! Remember to bring back any over due materials. If you have lost them you can either pay to replace the item or buy it and bring it in to replace it. As long as we get the materials back we’re happy!

Join us for Teen Tech Week March 8 - March 14! We are celebrating all things technical! Stop in and check out our DVD and VHS collections, audio books, and playaway mp3 books. We also have 4 desktops and several laptops with access to the internet available for use. If you have your own laptop you can bring it in and use our WI-FI connection for free.

A cold February day

I'm so tired of the snow! As, I'm sure, is everyone else. Cabin fever has been setting in around here and it's making everybody ansy. But, spring is just around the corner and there isn't much any of us can do except wait. *sigh*

Anyway, onto library news! Computer classes will be finishing up on Tuesday and because we had such a high demand we will be offering the same classes in March on the same dates and at the same times. If you would like to attend you can sign up by stopping in or contacting us.

I know it's a little early but I wanted everybody to know what's happening at the library well in advance. Next month is women's history month for those that enjoy those types of facts. The first week is "return the borrowed books week" (I'm dead serious, you can't make this stuff up), and the second week is teen tech week. The Twilight DVD party will be March 21st. We'll be giving away tons of prizes, so make sure you're there.

Hunted by P.C. and Kristen Cast will be out March 10. It is the 5th book in the House of Night series. I've read all of them and can't wait to get my hands on this one.

What odd weather!

I hope that everybody spent some time outdoors while the weather was so nice. I can't remember the last time we had such nice weather in February.

The 30 days of Twilight Questions will begin tomorrow, on Valentine's Day. The winner will get Twilight on DVD! Either call or stop into the library for that day's question...simple as that! The person with the most correct answers wins. If there is a tie, the winner will be drawn at random. You must be present at the party to recieve your prize.

Computer classes are going well. I will be doing a repeat of all the classes in March. Apparantly (did I spell that right?) I underestimated the amount of interest. If you have questions or would like to join the classes feel free to call or email me.
